Athletics
Hello everyone! Let me share with you an exhilarating day I experienced, which was nothing short of inspiring. My day commenced at the beautiful beach volleyball courts of Great Park, under the glorious sun, setting the stage for an extraordinary volleyball training session with Coach Aaron. Normally, my role in volleyball leans towards defense, but today's focus was mastering the art of hitting and jump serves. Under Coach Aaron's expert guidance, I embraced these new skills with enthusiasm, feeling a rush of excitement with each successful serve.
After an intense training session, Coach Aaron and I sat down for lunch, where our conversation took a deep and fascinating turn. We discussed the complexities of coaching, particularly how different temperament types can influence a coach's approach to their players. It was intriguing to delve into the psychological aspect of sports, understanding how a positive mentality can be a game-changer for growth and success.
In the afternoon, the setting shifted from the sandy beach to the corporate environment where my dad works, Keirsey. Here, I had the unique opportunity to contribute to the development of their latest project, "Temperament in Athletics.” Drawing from various professional reports, I worked diligently in helping to create a prototype, combining my newfound understanding of sports psychology with practical business insights.
Reflecting on the day, I realized how each segment—from the volleyball training at the beach, to the insightful discussions about sports psychology, and the hands-on experience in a business setting—was a step towards my personal and professional development. This day was more than just about sports; it was an adventure in understanding the intersection of athletic prowess, psychological insight, and business acumen, all through the eyes of a teenager keen on making a mark.
